Guidance for a Successful Application
Students interested in applying for scholarship should begin work on their application well before the deadline and have consulted the relevant faculty.
In general, to request a letter of recommendation, the ideal window of time is between two months and two weeks in advance of a deadline. Recommendations should come from faculty who can best attest to your performance in class, and ideally someone with whom you have had more than one class.
For proper formatting of a cover letter and a CV/Resume, consult the Division of Student Success’ Center for Career Development & Academic Exploration resources page. Feel free to consult your faculty mentor as well.
