Membership
The AIA website and folder provide information on our national organization as well as membership forms. It also includes a list of local societies and their lectures, as well as news about archaeological discoveries worldwide.
We are a unique organization in that we include professional archaeologists as well as students and non-professionals. Everyone with a passion for archaeology is welcome to join. Membership is crucial for us to maintain a presence in East Tennessee and continue to spread information about archaeology through lectures and other events.
Annual membership is $40 for students, K-12 educators, and active military personnel, and $70 for regular members. Our local East Tennessee Society provides a $10 rebate for students: please contact dbloy@utk.edu for details.
When joining, please be sure to mark “450-East Tennessee Society” as your local chapter.
Voluntary Contributions
Voluntary ETS dues remain at $20 for an individual, $25 for a family, and $10 for students. These are in addition to the national membership fee of the Archaeological Institute of America. ETS dues cover two-thirds of our operating costs: they pay for receptions and speaker’s dinners. Generous donations make it possible for us to invite out-of-town lecturers in addition to those sent by the national AIA office. Both your AIA and ETS contributions make our lectures possible.
Voluntary ETS donations may be paid either through Paypal or with check by mail:
If paying by Paypal, please click the “Donate” button below. You do not need a Paypal account, but can select “Pay with a Debit or Credit Card.” Following your donation, you will be taken to a page where you may register your lecture preferences for next year’s program.
If paying by check, please make your check payable to the “East Tennessee Society,” as well as print out and complete the opinion poll on this form [ATTACHED PDF] to indicate your lecture preferences. The opinion poll and check should be mailed to the following address:
